Job Purpose: The Excavator Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery to excavate, move, and grade earth, rock, or other materials on construction and mining sites. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of excavators, maintaining the equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.

Areas of Responsibility include:

·                 Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to perform digging, grading, and moving tasks.

·                 Conduct pre-operational checks and inspections of the equipment.

·                 Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to meet excavation and grading specifications.

·                 Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment in compliance with safety standards and regulations.

·                 Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.

·                 Communicate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate tasks.

·                 Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.

 

Experience and Education

·                 Certification or DVLA license to operate heavy machinery, including excavators.

·                 A minimum of 5 years of experience operating excavators in construction or mining environments.

·                 Strong knowledge of heavy machinery operation and safety protocols.

·                 Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
