Job Purpose: The Mine Supervisor is responsible for managing personnel, equipment and information and ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The role involves managing a team, coordinating activities, and addressing any issues that may arise during operations.

Areas of Responsibility include:

·                 Ensure the safety of workers and the work environment, which includes conducting inspections, monitoring safety issues, and reporting on safety concerns.

·                 Ensure production targets are met efficiently.

·                 Ensure the mining equipment hours of work are accurate as per the work done.

·                 Coordinate work with other sections of the mine and external contractors.

·                 Manage and report on all shift activities at the end of the shift.

·                 Manage and develop staff by training, providing guidance and identifying development needs.

·                 Ensure compliance with safety, employment and environmental regulations

·                 Identify and resolve issues and recommend actions to increase productivity.

·                 Ensure that all relevant documentation is completed promptly.

 

Experience and Education

·                 BSc. Mining Engineering or related field

·                 Minimum of 3 years of experience working on a mine site or in a similar supervisory role in an Open pit mine.

·                 Must have a Shift Boss certificate issued by the Mines Inspectorate of the Minerals Commission of Ghana.

·                 Strong understanding of mining operations and safety protocols.

·                 Proficiency in using relevant tools and equipment.

·                 Must be conversant with the Mining Act and related regulations of the Republic of Ghana

·                 Possess a valid Ghanaian Driving Licence and proficiency to drive a light vehicle.
