MFWA is employing media monitors for its project on election. It will be highling Countering Hate Speech and Polarisation
Summary
Media monitors will monitor, report and file occurrences of hate speech, provocation, and other narratives that lead polarisation occurring on social media platforms and traditional media platforms.
Some newspapers, social media platforms, television stations and radio stations all over the country will be the focus of the exercise. Monitoring reports will be posted monthly and will name individuals and media organisations that are guilty of polarising narratives.
Responsibilities
· Write and submit reports to the MFWA
· Monitor content on some media houses
· Monitor occurrences on social media across the country
Qualification
· At least a Bachelor’s degree in media studies or a related field
· Ability to speak fluent English
· Ability to write English
· Ability to speak and write at least one local language
· Experience in media monitoring and research projects
