A five-star hostel and a member of a global hotel brand operating in Accra, Ghana is seeking an experienced, motivated and internationally exposed Chief Engineer to join their team. As a Chief Engineer, you will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations for this prestigious hotel, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety and building automation systems, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintain the highest standards of quality, service and sustainability that our guests expect.

Key Responsibilities

·        Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programmers to maximize equipment, uptime and efficiency

·        Manager a team of skilled technicians, mechanics and support staff to execute maintenance, repairs and capital projects.

·        Leverage data analytics and predictive maintenance techniques to identify optimization opportunities

·        Collaborate cross-functionally with hotel leadership to align engineering priorities with business objectives

·        Ensure the hotel meets all relevant safety regulations, building codes and environmental compliance requirements.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical field

·        Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in building operations, facilities management, or engineering, preferably in a luxury hotel setting

·        Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing technical teams

·        In-depth knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety and building automation systems.

·        Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite

·        Excellent project management, budgeting and problem-solving skills

·        Strong business acumen and ability to communicate effectively with hotel leadership

·        Commitment to workplace safety, sustainability and continuous learning

·        Valid driver’s license and ability to be on-call 24/7 for emergencies.
