Golden Ridge Limited is seeking the services of qualified, hardworking, and experienced individuals for the position of Mechanical Technician. The successful candidate will conduct mechanical maintenance, deployment, troubleshooting, replacement, repair, and equipment testing on drills, shovels, and support equipment, according to OEM specifications and safety standards to ensure equipment availability and optimal mining operations and production. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance routines and inspections. The following are the responsibilities and qualification for the position;
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Mechanical Maintenance
i. Perform preventive maintenance routines and inspections.
ii. Generate a work order before the remedial or repair work.
iii. Raise a job card for work to be carried out, if any problems are identified.
iv. Accomplish work objectives by determining own work schedule, coordinate with support services
v. Attend to items on the maintenance planning schedule, as and when required.
vi. Perform installations, maintenance, and repair activities, by OEM specifications.
vii. Troubleshoot technical and/or operational problems.
viii. Perform routine maintenance on all mechanical equipment and ensure effective functioning, including but not limited to maintenance of drills, shovels and support equipment.
ix. Perform a variety of other maintenance tasks, such as breakdowns and preventative maintenance.
x. Disassemble and assemble various major components for repair works.
xi. Ensure that all lock-out/ tag-outs are completed before any work is carried out.
xii. Provide information in terms of sufficient spare availability and stock levels.
xiii. Assist specialists in making more complex repairs.
xiv. Work within established procedures and operating manuals, as set out by the OEMs and best practice.
xv. Check that daily and rotational quality targets are achieved, including First Stop After PM (FSAPM), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time To Repairs (MTTR)
xvi. Conduct daily inspection and lube services on the machines
xvii. Collect oil samples from the mining fleet using best practices to minimize
xviii. contamination.
Trouble shooting
i. Inspect all mechanical equipment daily and record all findings from the inspection.
ii. Check all malfunctioned machinery and equipment and conduct root cause analysis to diagnose whether to repair or replace.
iii. Analyze specified problems and issues to find the best technical solutions within OEM specifications.
iv. Strive to reduce downtime and minimize costs.
Reporting
i. Maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
ii. Produce daily reports indicating the jobs for the day and submit the report to the Supervisor.
Health, Safety, and Environment
i. Deliver own prescribed outcomes and/or provide support services, by applying Zijin's Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies and protocols.
ii. Inspect the equipment to check and identify any mechanical and basic electrical risks.
iii. Attend all safety meetings.
Training and Experience
i. Formal Qualification (including professional Registrations)
ii. Mechanical Engineering Technician certificate.
iii. Mechanic Trade training, apprenticeship.
iv. MINCOM is certified as an Inspection Engineer, as an advantage.
Additional Knowledge
i. Advanced knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles and industry standards.
ii. Advanced knowledge and experience in maintaining Drills. Shovels and support equipment.
iii. Knowledge of the work management process.
iv. Knowledge of planning and scheduling.
v. Knowledge of CMMS/ERP
Technical Skills
i. Advanced communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

iii. Ability to read and understand technical documentation such as technical instructions, test procedures, and technical manuals.
iv. Ability to identify problems and to report by using the technical names of equipment parts.

vi. Ability to manage the quality of operations by the quality standards of the organization and international best practices.
Industry Experience
i. Minimum of 3 years' mechanical maintenance experience in a mining plant/process environment, preferably repairing and maintaining drill, shovels, and support equipment.
