A reputable financial institution seeks the services of qualified and hardworking individuals for the position of an IT Support Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering databases, networking and systems and other duties such as JBase databases, SQL databases and business applications. The ideal candidate will manage the host computers' day-to-day operations by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. As follows are the responsibilities and qualifications for the position;

Responsibilities

·       The candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the host computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.

·       The candidate must ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.

·       The candidate will be responsible for applying revisions to the host system firmware and software.

·       The candidate will perform troubleshooting as required

·       The candidate will be responsible for working directly with IT personnel and business teams to resolve issues identified and escalated during daily operations and supervises operations staff including training and evaluation

·       The candidate will manage the data centre and computer host systems including hardware, software and equipment such as air-conditioning systems, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection systems.

Qualification

·       Bachelor’s degree in the area of Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or other related fields

·       Proven experience in jBase and SQL running on Linux and Windows platforms will be an added advantage.

·       SQL Server Administration certification

·       Good written and verbal communication skills

·       Ability to plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures and respond to emergencies effectively.
