The West African Examination Council is seeking the services of qualified, hardworking, and experienced individuals for the position of Accountant II. Successful candidates will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of budgets, financial and cost analysis. The following are the relevant responsibilities and qualifications for the position;
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties among
others in the Finance Division:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial and cost analysis.
- Analyse revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget controls.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the Council.
- Interact with Internal and External Auditors in completing audits.
- Prepare reports for the Council’s meetings.
- Accounting for the Council’s Funds for Examination.
- Supervision of all Accounts staff in his/her office.
- Serve as a statutory member on management Committee meetings.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting degree (at least second class lower) or a related field of study.
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana (ICAG) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is an added
advantage.
- Have at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification work experience in a reputable institution.
