The Embassy of Denmark in Ghana is recruiting a Communication and Cultural Officer. We are looking for a positive and proactive service-minded colleague with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of integrity, self- motivation and initiative.
The position is responsible for ensuring effective and continuous communication, strengthening the Embassy's public diplomacy, and enhancing Denmark's visibility and engagement in Ghana through strategic communication and cultural initiatives.
Main tasks and responsibilities
· Lead the planning and execution of cultural projects, including high-level events, official visits, seminars and networking activities to strengthen Denmark's profile in Ghana and the Embassy's side-accredited countries
· Develop communication materials, including articles, speeches, press releases, presentations and visual content promoting Danish priorities, partnerships and activities
· Manage the Embassy's communication platforms, including social media channels, website content, and other digital communication tools
· Build and maintain relationships with journalists, communication colleagues and cultural attachés from other embassies and international organisations
· Manage projects related to music, performing art, literature, exhibitions and other cultural activities
Qualifications and requirements:
· A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (i.e. event management, communications, journalism, or similar)
· Demonstrated experience in organising and managing high-level events and campaigns
· Excellent written and spoken English. Proficiency in French is an advantage
· Strong collaboration and communication skills, with flair for storytelling across different audiences and platforms
· Willingness to learn, develop professionally and share knowledge with colleagues
· Creativity, cultural awareness, and a strong interest in international affairs are highly valued
· Experience working at an embassy, an international organisation, a NGO or in another multicultural environment is an advantage
Terms of employment
· Full time contract (40 hours pr. week) or part time under local terms and conditions.
· 5 weeks paid leave annually combined with a flexible work scheme.
· Mutual trial period of three months.
· Salary will be based on the Embassy's fixed salary scale reflecting qualifications, relevant experience, and proven work-related results.
· You and your dependant family members will be offered health care insurance including coverage of medical expenses.
· Employment requires security clearance by Danish Authorities (requires presentation of "No Criminal Record").
