Broll Ghana is seeking the services of qualified, hardworking, and experienced individuals for the position of a Junior Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and directing accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset, and cost accounting. The following are the responsibilities and qualifications for the position;

Responsibilities

       i.          Ensures that accounting functions and duties are accurately and promptly completed.

      ii.          Prepares journal entries and balances work in more complicated accounting areas.

    iii.          Oversees the preparation of regulatory and governmental reports, reviews financial information needed to ensure an accurate statement of the mall’s financial position to various regulatory agencies.

    iv.          Oversees the mall’s fixed asset portfolio. Prepares depreciation schedules and catalogs furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

     v.          Researches and resolves accounting errors and discrepancies.

    vi.          Assist with budget preparations and formulations of 1,3, and 5-year projections and financial analysis. Monitors costs and expenses.

  vii.          Undertakes quarterly and periodic reviews, assesses and adjusts forecasts in accordance with financial results.

 viii.          Manage financial incomes, including management and admin fees on rental recoveries, commissions on new or renewed leases, and interest earnings.

    ix.          Manage financial expenditure, including running costs, staff expenses, admin costs, VAT, and RSC levies, taxation.

     x.          Prepares regular reports and statements for management.

    xi.          Ensures that accounting functions are completed in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulations.

  xii.          Control of various financial functions, including balance sheet, creditors, and allocation of funds received ex debtors, cheques, and authorize payments from accounts.

Manage and control various book-keeping duties and functions, including:

                           i.          Regular and timeous rent rolls and rental statements.

                          ii.          Disbursement statements.

                        iii.          Bank reconciliation.

                        iv.          Net income payment to owners/clients.

                         v.          Adjustment account for properties purchased or sold.

                        vi.          Ensure the completion of the month and periodic statutory returns.

                      vii.          Control payments of the company and property-related accounts. Ensure recovery ex ex-tenants as appropriate.

                     viii.          Administer all functions of the tenancy turnover certificate.

Produces various management reports, including:

                           i.          Detailed and summarized income statements.

                          ii.          Preparation of board packs.

                        iii.          Monthly and annual figures.

                        iv.          Ensure the production of monthly reports for clients/owners.

                         v.          Monthly financial statements.

                        vi.          Trading densities per tenant/property area and per sector.

                      vii.          Turnover graphs per sector.

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

                           i.          Stays informed of developments in the accounting field and of changing governmental and legal requirements.

                          ii.          Completes special projects as assigned.

                        iii.          Ensures that work areas are clean, secure, and well-maintained.

                        iv.          Assists in approval appointment and management of payments to service companies and suppliers.

                         v.          Signing of cheques and EFT transfer, and control of petty cash.

                        vi.          Bank reconciliation.

Skills

       i.          Ability to meet deadlines and manage projects

      ii.          Ability to assist and supervise others.

    iii.          Well-organised and attentive to details.

    iv.          Excellent computer proficiency.

     v.          Strong analytical skills.

Qualification

       i.          Minimum of a BSc in Accounting or related discipline.

      ii.          Professional membership is an added advantage but not a requirement.
