Job Summary:
The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of company facilities, including buildings, equipment, and surrounding grounds. The role involves managing vendors, supervising maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and optimizing facility operations to enhance efficiency and
cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance:
· Oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
· Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
· Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance needs. Vendor and Contract Management:
· Negotiate contracts with service providers and manage vendor relationships for maintenance, cleaning, and security services.
· Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality service delivery.
Health and Safety Compliance:
· Ensure facilities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Develop and maintain emergency response plans and safety procedures. Budget and Cost Management:
· Prepare and manage the facility budget, including expense forecasting and cost control measures.
· Track and report on expenses, ensuring financial efficiency.
Team Supervision:
· Lead and manage a team of maintenance staff.
Space Planning and Utilization:
· Optimize office layouts and facility usage based on operational requirements. Coordinate space reconfigurations and renovations.
Security Management:
· Oversee facility security systems and procedures to protect company assets.
· Ensuring that facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations
Sustainability Initiatives:
· Implement energy-saving measures and sustainability programs.
· Monitor utility consumption and recommend optimisation strategies.
Key Requirements:
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management or related roles.
· Proven experience in vendor management and budget control.
· Software: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD
