Abpo is seeking the services of qualified, hardworking, talented, and experienced individuals for the position of a Software Engineer. The successful candidate will write and maintain clean, well-tested backend code in Python and integrate third-party APIs with strict attention to data accuracy. This is a rare opportunity to work at the ground floor of real, production voice AI technology - not websites, but genuine applied AI solving real commercial problems. You will work directly alongside and support our Lead Engineer, building and integrating the systems that power the platform. The following are the responsibilities and qualifications;
Responsibilities
Backend Development

·       Write and maintain clean, well-tested backend code in Python.

·       Build and support the services that connect our systems

·       Debug, troubleshoot, and improve existing code.

API Integration

·       Integrate third-party APIs with strict attention to data accuracy.

·       Handle real-time requests, error states, and failure handling correctly.

·       Never allow the system to present data it has not genuinely retrieved.

Voice AI Support

·       Support the development and testing of our voice-AI systems.

·       Assist with integration between the AI layer and live operational systems.

Working With the Team

·       Take technical direction from the Lead Engineer and deliver against it.

·       Report progress clearly and daily: flag blockers early and honestly.

·       Document your work so others can maintain it.

Qualifications

·       Two to three years of solid, hands-on coding experience.

·       Strong Python development skills.

·       Real experience integrating APIs - not simply calling them, but understanding them.

·       Sound grasp of version control and working in a shared codebase.

·       Able to work in our Accra office five days a week.

·       Takes direction well, communicates clearly, and is hungry to learn under an experienced lead.

·       Honest about what you do and do not know.

Added Advantages

·       Any exposure to voice, telephony, or conversational AI tools.

·       Familiarity with databases and cloud infrastructure.

·       Curiosity about travel technology.

Salary Range

GHS 4,000-6,000
