Wilmar is seeking the services of a qualified and interested applicant for the position of a Procurement Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing purchase requisitions, obtaining supplier quotations, and issuing purchase orders within delegated authority. For this reason, we are looking for a Procurement Officer who will collaborate with our Head of Procurement (Non-Trade) to drive excellence in our organization while also supporting our internal Procurement unit. The following are the responsibilities and qualifications for the position;
Responsibilities

·       Process purchase requisitions, obtain supplier quotations, compare prices, and issue purchase orders within delegated authority.

·       Track order fulfillment, manage exceptions, and confirm receipt of goods and services.

·       Coordinate with warehouse and internal teams for proper material receipt and documentation.

·       Communicate with suppliers on pricing, delivery schedules, and order status.

·       Assist in coordinating timely payment processing with Finance for
received goods/services.

·       Maintain accurate procurement records, update ERP, and prepare operational reports (open orders, spend tracking).

·       Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and internal controls.

·       Perform other procurement-related tasks assigned to support business and operational needs.

Education and Experience

·       Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (E.g. technical/ Engineering/Production background, etc.)

·       Professional Certification (Optional): Student or affiliate membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar procurement body is an advantage.

·       1-3 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Support.

·       Basic understanding of procurement processes.

·       Supplier communication skills.

·       Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

·       Basic analytical and price comparison skills.

·       Good organizational and coordination skills.

·       Computer literacy: Proficiency in Ms. Excel, Ms. Word, Ms. PPT, SAP & Ariba.
