Sidan Associates & Partners, a leading design-to-construction firm, is seeking a qualified and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor / Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing both the financial aspects of construction projects and overseeing procurement activities, ensuring a seamless transition from design to construction. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both design and construction processes, along with strong negotiation, cost control and procurement skills. As follows are the responsibilities and qualification for the position;
Responsibilities
· The candidate will prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for construction projects.
· The candidate will be responsible for projecting costs and providing accurate financial reporting to ensure projects remain within budget.
· The candidate must ensure market research is conducted to identify cost-effective procurement opportunities
· The candidate must ensure compliance with organizational and legal procurement standards
· The candidate will collaborate with project teams to forecast and manage material requirements
Qualification
· Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Construction management or a related field
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying and/or procurement
· Professional certification in Quantity Surveying and/or procurement, preferably in the construction industry
· Professional certification in Quantity Surveying (e.g. MRICS) is an added advantage.
· Professional certification in Procurement (e.g. CIPS) is an added advantage.
· Proven knowledge of construction costs, contracts and procurement processes
· Good negotiation and communication skills
· Excellent analytical and numerical skills
· Proficiency in construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project) and procurement systems
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Strong ethical standards and integrity
