The Digital Content Officer will support the development and execution of creative and impactful communication strategies across Databank Group. The role focuses on storytelling, digital content creation (including short-form video and reels), and basic social media management to enhance brand visibility and stakeholder and shareholder engagement
Duties and Responsibilities
Content Development & Storytelling
· Develop, create, and edit punchy, conversational, and culturally resonant content (incorporating local nuances and phrasing where appropriate) for social media, website, newsletters, and organizational reports.
· Produce and document corporate programmes, events, and milestones through compelling short-form videos, reels, and high-quality mobile photography.
· Support the development of human-interest stories, testimonials, and beneficiary success narratives.
Digital Communications & Social Media Management
· Support the day-to-day management of social media platforms, including scheduling, posting, and responding to engagement.
· Create and curate content tailored to platform-specific audiences (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
· Assist in executing digital campaigns to promote corporate initiatives
Internal Communications & Coordination
· Support coordination between the marketing team and other departments to ensure consistent messaging, including maintaining and updating a centralized content calendar to help track cross-departmental requests.
· Coordinate logistics for video content: organizing shoot schedules, directing on-screen talent, and working with the marketing team to coordinate participation from internal staff across the business.
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
Experience working in a foundation, NGO, or CSR environment is an advantage.
Skills/Competencies
· Strong ability to shoot high-quality video and photography using a smartphone.
· Strong writing, storytelling, and editing skills, with a proven ability to write compelling, conversion-focused copy.
· Creative thinker with a passion for digital content (especially video, reels, and visual storytelling).
· Proficiency in mobile-first content creation tools, with a strong emphasis on Canva and CapCut; familiarity with advanced editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro is a distinct advantage.
· Good understanding of social media platforms and digital trends.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
· Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience
· Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in communications, content development or digital marketing.
