The West African Examination Council is seeking the services of qualified, hardworking, and experienced individuals for the position of Assistant Registrars II (Aptitude Test). Successful candidates will assist in the design, development, and digitization of aptitude tests. The following are the relevant responsibilities and qualifications for the position;

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The role blends information technology expertise with research and assessment
functions, focusing on developing, managing, and improving digital aptitude
testing systems and data processes. The successful applicant will be required to
perform the following duties among others:

·       Assist in the design, development, and digitisation of aptitude tests

·       Creating and maintaining computer-based testing (CBT) platforms

·       Formatting and organising test items in digital systems

·       Managing test data, candidate records, and research datasets

·       Supporting psychometric analysis (e.g., item performance, scoring patterns)

·       Maintaining testing software, databases, and internal systems

·       Troubleshooting technical issues during test administration

·       Ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and efficient

·       Assisting researchers with data collection, processing, and visualization

·       Using IT tools to support statistical analysis and reporting

·       Helping implement technology-based research methods

·       Customising internal applications or tools for item banks, automated  scoring, and candidates tracking systems

·       Supporting test integrity and security measures

Qualifications and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or a related field.

·       Minimum of three (3) years post-graduation proven work experience as an IT Officer or similar role, demonstrating expertise in managing IT infrastructure and providing technical support.

·       Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting techniques.

·       Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems.

·       Familiarity with cloud-based services and technologies.

·       Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·       Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
