Our client, an FMCG company based in Ghana, is looking to recruit a highly experienced Key Account Manager to join the team.
ROLE
The purpose of this role is to build and keep strong, long-term relationships with the company's clients within the modern trade segment, focus on maximizing client satisfaction, drive sales growth, and ensure the success of key accounts. This involves planning strategies, meeting sales targets, and communicating effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Planning & Strategy
i. Develop annual Joint Business Plans (JBP)
ii. Set volume/value targets and align promotional calendar
Sales Execution
i. Drive listing, replenishment, and planogram compliance
ii. Ensure 100% availability and reduce OOS (stock-outs)
Promotions & Activations
i. Plan and execute account-specific promotions
ii. Ensure timely settlement of schemes and claims
Analytics & Reporting
i. Track sell-in, sell-out, returns, and ROI on promotions
ii. Provide weekly/monthly dashboards
Relationship Management
i. Maintain strong buyer relationships at both the head office and the branch level
ii. Act as a single point of contact for issue resolution
Cross-Functional Collaboration
i. Work closely with supply chain, marketing, and finance for execution
ii. Coordinate with merchandising and the field force
New Channel Opportunities
i. Identify new account openings, formats (express stores, e-comm, etc.) Pitch new product listings or pilot launches

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
i. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
ii. 5-6 years of experience in Key Account or Modern Trade sales (FMCG preferred)
iii. Proven track record in handling major retailers or institutional buyers
iv. Strong negotiation & influencing skills
v. Data-driven decision-making & reporting capability
vi. Account planning & financial acumen
vii. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
viii. Proficient in Excel and CRM/SFA tool
