ST. Michael's Specialist Hospital is seeking the services of qualified, hardworking, and experienced individuals for the position of a Claims Officer. The successful candidate will prepare the claims/credit bills with supporting documents and submit them to credit clients and insurance companies. The following are the responsibilities and qualifications for the position;
Qualifications
i. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
ii. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in healthcare.
Job Description
i. Prepare the claims/credit bills with supporting documents and submit to credit clients and insurance companies
ii. Maintain data in claims systems - RX claim, Medferve, etc.
iii. Follow up with insurance companies and patients to ensure timely payments.
iv. Assist in developing strategies to reduce financial risk while maintaining a strong financial position for the hospital.
Skills
i. Proficiency in accounting software (experience with ERP systems is an advantage) and Microsoft Excel.
ii. Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
iii. Negotiation skills.
iv. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
