Essence Medical Laboratory is seeking qualified, hardworking and passionate individuals for the position of a Laboratory Scientist. The ideal candidate should have deep understanding of Medical Laboratory Practice and well experience in performing scientific testing and analyzing of samples and reporting accurate results to Physicians for Diagnosis. As follows are the responsibilities and qualification for the position;

Responsibilities

·       Candidate will perform quality control on test results and ensure it’s validity and accuracy

·       Candidate will perform roles of a Laboratory Scientist

·       Candidate will communicate and interact with others in a professional and reasonable manner

·       Candidate must have a good understanding of equipment and techniques used in the laboratory

·       Candidate should be able to explain and analyze laboratory data

·       Candidate must have a strong knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and ensure it’s always abided by in the Laboratory

·       Candidate will process and handle blood, other biological specimens according to established procedures

·       Candidate will be responsible for instructing nurses on how to properly collect samples

·       Candidate will be responsible for calibrating and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy

Qualification

·       Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or similar

·       Post Graduate Degree is an added advantage

·       3 years of proven work experience in Medical Laboratory Practice

·       Licensed under Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) with a pin

·       Good written and verbal communication skills with showcases professionality at all times

·       Proficient in Laboratory standards, practices and processes

·       Good knowledge in Laboratory Practice
