The African-Diaspora Nursing Alliance (A-DNA) is committed to strengthening nursing and midwifery across Africa through education, professional development, mentorship, research, advocacy, partnerships, and health initiatives. A-DNA is seeking a motivated, organized, and dependable Administrative Support Staff to provide day-to-day administrative and programmatic support. This position is particularly designed for a recently graduated nurse or midwife who is currently unemployed or seeking their first professional opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide day-to-day administrative support to A-DNA leadership and program teams.
· Manage emails, correspondence, calendars, meeting schedules, and follow-up communications.
· Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, reports, letters, and other organizational documents.
· Maintain organized electronic files, databases, membership records, and program documentation.
· Assist with scheduling meetings, webinars, workshops, conferences, and other A-DNA activities.
· Support participant registration, attendance tracking, communication, and follow-up.
· Assist with preparing presentations, promotional materials, certificates, and program documents.
· Support A-DNA social media and online communication efforts.
· Assist with maintaining and updating A-DNA membership information and partner communications.
· Conduct basic internet research and prepare summaries when requested.
· Assist with grant, fundraising, and program documentation.
· Perform other duties and special projects assigned by A-DNA leadership.
Qualifications
· Recent graduate of an accredited nursing or midwifery program.
· Registered nurse or midwife, or eligible for professional registration/licensure.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Good organizational and time-management skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
· Comfortable using email, Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Drive, and other common digital platforms.
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
· Professional, dependable, and willing to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous volunteer, internship, administrative, or leadership experience.
· Experience with event planning, social media, research, or community health programs.
· Interest in global health, nursing and midwifery leadership, education, or healthcare workforce development.
· Strong computer and digital literacy skills.
