A five-star hostel and a member of a global hotel brand operating in Accra, Ghana is seeking an experienced, motivated and internationally exposed Chief Engineer to join their team. As a Chief Engineer, you will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations for this prestigious hotel, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety and building automation systems, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintain the highest standards of quality, service and sustainability that our guests expect.

Key Responsibilities

·        Oversee the daily housekeeping activities, including room cleaning, public area maintenance and line/uniform management.

·        Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of housekeepers, linen attendants and room attendants

·        Monitor the cleanliness, organization and presentation of all guest room, public spaces, and back of-house areas

·        Collaborate with other department heads to coordinate housekeeping activities and address any issues or concerns

·        Implement quality control measures to ensure guest room cleanliness, comfort and satisfaction.

·        Manage the housekeeping budget, inventory and equipment ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

·        Ensure the housekeeping department adheres to all applicable health safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

·        Eight (8) years of progressive experience in hotel housekeeping operations, with at least four (4) years in a supervisory or management role.

·        Demonstrated expertise in leading a large team of housekeeping staff and driving operational excellence

·        Exceptional organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills

·        Proficient in hotel management software, inventory management and data analysis.

·        Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

·        Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

·        Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and best practices
