About This Role

To supervise and coordinate all activities in the Security Control Room by ensuring continuous monitoring of surveillance, communication, and alarm systems, providing effective incident response, and guaranteeing that operations are conducted in line with company security standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

       i.          Oversee day-to-day operations of the Security Control Room to ensure uninterrupted monitoring of all mine facilities, including pits, process plants, tailings storage facilities, and accommodation areas.

     ii.          Supervise and guide Control Room Operators in the effective use of CCTV, alarms, access control systems, radio communications, and tracking systems.

    iii.          Monitor live surveillance feeds to detect theft, illegal intrusions, equipment tampering, unsafe behaviour, and other irregular activities across the mining lease.

   iv.          Respond promptly to emergencies such as pit intrusions, explosives magazine breaches, medical emergencies, and vehicle incidents by coordinating with field security teams and relevant departments.

     v.          Manage installation and troubleshooting of security systems such as CCTV, alarms, access control, etc.

   vi.          Maintain accurate logs, reports, and digital records of incidents, alarms, and security events for management review and regulatory compliance.

  vii.          Conduct daily checks and ensure functionality of all Control Room equipment; escalate faults to maintenance teams for immediate resolution.

viii.          Liaise with Mine Operations, Processing, Engineering, and Safety departments to ensure coordinated responses to security and safety incidents

   ix.          Support investigations by providing CCTV footage, access control reports, and communication logs.

     x.          Mentor, coach, and train Control Room staff on standard operating procedures, emergency protocols, and use of surveillance technology.

   xi.          Run data analysis of aggregated security data from the various security locations and submit trend reports to management as required.

  xii.          Manage the promulgation of security alert data sent to all security locations.

xiii.          Recommend improvements to strengthen mine site security systems and processes.

xiv.          Safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of all security data and evidence.

Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies

       i.          Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, or related field (preferred) or a related discipline.

     ii.          Minimum of 5 years’ experience in security operations, with at least 2 years supervisory experience in a control room environment.

    iii.          Technical knowledge of CCTV systems, drones/UAVs, intrusion alarms, and telecommunication systems.

   iv.          Relevant IT Security certification, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate, etc.

     v.          Familiarity with mining/oil & gas/industrial security operations is desirable.

   vi.          Drone Pilot License is highly advantageous.

  vii.          Strong knowledge of mine security risks (illegal mining incursions, explosives security, asset theft, and trespass).

viii.          Advanced proficiency in the installation of CCTV cameras, access control, radio communications, and GPS tracking systems.

   ix.          Skilled in security incident reporting, investigations, and evidence handling.
