We are seeking a dynamic Head of Internal Audit who will lead the company’s audit function, adding value by strengthening internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing risk management. As follows are the responsibilities and qualifications for the position;
Responsibilities
· The candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing the annual internal audit plan, detailing audit objectives, schedules, resource needs, and audit frequency based on risk assessment
· The candidate will evaluate and review the effectiveness, adequacy, and proper application of accounting and financial controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and best practices
· The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the creation, maintenance and continued updating of the internal audit manual and audit programs
· The candidate will lead the internal audit of the company’s core functions, including Operations, Finance and Commercial units
Qualification
· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, the social sciences or related field
· Master’s Degree is an added advantage
· At least 8 years’ experience in Audit, Risk and compliance at a managerial level in the financial service environment
Skills
· Technical Expertise: Internal Audit Standards and Framework, Risk Management and Compliance, Data Analysis and Reporting
· Leadership skills: Stakeholder management, strategic vision and decision-making
