Korey Sustainability is an Africa SME-focused ESG and Climate Action startup. We empower traditional MSMEs to transform their business models into sustainable enterprises. We aim to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible consumption through customised strategies, educational initiatives, and partnerships. We believe in the power of MSMEs to drive climate action across Africa, aligning our mission with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (climate action) and SDG 17 (partnership for the goals).

Role

Communications and Social Media Associate (Part-time, flexible 30 hours a week).

Location

Remote, with limited on-site participation for specific events.

Compensation 

A monthly allowance of GH¢ 1,800 is provided, along with accountable interest for data and calls capped at GH¢ 1,000 and reimbursement for work-related transportation expenses.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Content Creation and Social Media Management
    – Develop and execute a social media strategy to increase awareness of Korey’s mission and activities.
    – Create and manage content for social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and Facebook (including graphic design)
    – Monitor and respond to audience engagement across platforms
  • Communications
    – Draft press releases, blog posts, and newsletters highlighting key projects, achievements, and milestones.
    – Assist in developing messaging for campaigns, events, and partnerships.
    – Support the team in maintaining regular communication with external stakeholders.
  • Event Support
    – Collaborate with the team on communications and social media coverage for events.
    – Participate in on-site events and provide live updates through social media.
  • Analytics and Reporting
    – Track social media metrics and provide insights to optimize strategies.
    – Compile monthly reports on communications efforts and social media performance.

Skills and Qualifications 

·       Passion for sustainability, climate action, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) topics.

·       Familiarity with tools like Canva, Buffer, or similar software for content creation and scheduling.

·       Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and clear messaging.

·       Experience in managing social media accounts and developing content.

·       Detail-oriented and proactive, with excellent organisational skills.

·       Ability to work independently and remotely.

·       Bilingual in English and French (preferred but not required) is a plus.
