Procurement Manager at Yayra Glover

The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager will lead and manage Yayra Glover Group’s procurement and supply chain functions to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality sourcing and delivery of goods and services. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth flow of resources across our operations, with a focus on sustainable and efficient practices. The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager will play a key role in enhancing supply chain efficiency, building strong vendor relationships, and driving cost-effective sourcing strategies that align with Yayra Glover Group’s mission and sustainability values.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Strategic Planning & Management

- Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies that support Yayra Glover Group’s objectives and growth.

- Oversee the entire supply chain process, from sourcing and procurement to delivery, ensuring efficiency and sustainability.

- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, new suppliers, and potential risks.

Procurement

- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors to meet company requirements.

- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings while ensuring quality and ethical standards.

- Establish and maintain supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with company standards and sustainable practices.

- Coordinate with internal departments to forecast and plan procurement needs based on production and operational demands.

Supply Chain Optimization

- Develop and oversee inventory management and stock control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels.

- Streamline logistics and warehousing operations to ensure timely delivery of materials and reduce lead times.

- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.

- Manage risks associated with supply chain disruptions, such as material shortages or delays, by developing contingency plans.

Quality Control & Compliance

- Establish quality control standards and work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with Yayra Glover Group’s quality requirements.

- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and sustainability commitments.

- Oversee the auditing of suppliers and vendors to verify adherence to ethical and environmental standards.

Data Management & Reporting

- Monitor and analyse key metrics related to procurement and supply chain performance.

- Prepare and present regular reports on cost savings, supplier performance, and supply chain risks.

- Utilise data to identify areas of improvement and implement data-driven decisions.

Team Leadership & Development

- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of procurement and supply chain professionals.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

- Lead training initiatives to enhance team skills in negotiation, procurement best practices, and sustainability awareness.

Qualification & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is an added advantage.

Experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics management, preferably in agriculture or food and beverage industries.

- Skills:

- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Knowledge of sustainable sourcing and supply chain practices.

- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for managing supplier relationships.
