JOB PURPOSE 

The IT Support & Systems Officer is responsible for providing technical assistance to users, maintaining the organisation’s IT infrastructure, and supporting cybersecurity and digital forensics operations. The role ensures smooth IT operations by managing hardware, software, networks, and security systems, while contributing to a secure and efficient technology environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

       i.          Provide technical support to staff on hardware, software, and network-related issues.

     ii.          Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile devices in line with organisational standards.

    iii.          Manage the company’s device management and endpoint protection solutions (e.g., antivirus, patch management).

   iv.          Support the setup and maintenance of LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.

     v.          Perform system and data backups, ensuring reliability and data recovery readiness.

   vi.          Manage user accounts, access permissions, and authentication systems (Active Directory, email, etc.).

  vii.          Deploy and maintain software applications and updates across user systems.

viii.          Assist in the implementation and monitoring of IT security controls, including updates, antivirus management, and vulnerability mitigation.

   ix.          Support internal cybersecurity and forensics operations with technical expertise where required.

     x.          Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT assets, configurations, and support activities.

   xi.          Provide technical support for trainings, presentations, and virtual meetings (e.g., A/V setup, connectivity, conferencing tools).

  xii.          Liaise with vendors and service providers for procurement, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems.

xiii.          Perform any other IT-related duties as assigned to support operational efficiency and security.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

       i.          Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Network Engineering.

     ii.          Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) are an added advantage

    iii.          Knowledge or professional experience in IT, cybersecurity and related industry is recommended.
