Nezo Group is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to play a key role in strengthening our financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional ready to step into greater ownership, partnering closely with the Finance Manager on budgeting, reporting, compliance, and team leadership, while helping shape the financial backbone of a growing multi-sector organization. The following are the responsibilities and qualifications for the position;
What You'll Do
· Support the preparation of accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
· Drive the budgeting process by developing, monitoring, and reviewing departmental and organizational budgets, and flagging variances early.
· Own daily cash flow monitoring and working capital tracking to keep the organization's liquidity on solid ground.
· Ensure timely, accurate statutory filings (taxes, pensions, levies) and serve as a key liaison with regulatory bodies.
· Turn financial data into insight, identifying trends and cost-saving opportunities that inform management decisions.
· Coordinate with internal and external auditors and help drive audit recommendations to completion.
· Track receivables and assist in recovering overdue accounts, providing analysis on accounts receivable and implementing policies to reduce risk and sales outstanding days.
· Track suppliers' payments and provide analysis on timely payments to maintain creditworthiness and scoring while maximizing cash retention.
· Analyze inventory levels, minimize holding costs, and reduce obsolescence.
· Collaborate with cross-department teams to improve inventory turnover.
· Mentor and supervise finance officers or assistants, building a stronger, more capable finance team.
· Review payroll computations for accuracy and statutory compliance.
· Strengthen internal financial controls that protect company assets and reduce fraud risk.
· Step in for the Finance Manager when needed, keeping finance operations running without disruption.
What We're Looking For
· A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
· A Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage
· Professional certification - ACCA, ICAG, CIMA, or equivalent (part- or fully-qualified)
· 4-6 years of progressive finance accounting experience, including 1-2 years in a supervisory or senior officer role
· Solid grasp of financial reporting, budgeting, and Ghanaian statutory compliance requirements
· Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel, with experience using Zoho Books, Tally, or similar ERP systems.
· A sharp analytical mind, natural leadership instincts, and clear, confident communication
· Experience in a supply chain, logistics, oil & gas, mining, or telecom-adjacent environment is an advantage
