AppCyclers is a Tamale-based social enterprise founded in 2019. We leverage web technology, data analysis, and community engagement to ensure the safe collection, disposal, and management of electronic and plastic waste. Through innovation and circular economy solutions, we are transforming how waste is collected, recycled, and reused across Ghana while scaling sustainable impact across Africa. As AppCyclers continues to expand its operations, partnerships, and innovation projects, we are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and results-oriented individual to join our growing team as a Project Officer. 

Position Details

Position: Project Officer

Location: Tamale

Employment Type: Full-Time (In-Person)

About the Role

The Project Officer will support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of AppCyclers’ projects and strategic activities. The successful candidate will work closely with management, technical teams, partners, communities, and stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of projects related to sustainability, circular economy, waste recovery, digital innovation, and environmental impact. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive, and adaptable professional who is passionate about innovation, sustainability, and creating meaningful social and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

·       Support the coordination and implementation of AppCyclers’ projects and operational activities

·       Assist in project planning, execution, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting

·       Coordinate meetings, trainings, stakeholder engagements, field activities, and project logistics

·       Support communication and collaboration with partners, recyclers, communities, institutions, and stakeholders

·       Assist in data collection, documentation, analysis, and reporting of project activities and outcomes

·       Contribute to proposal development, research, presentations, and project documentation

·       Support innovation and growth initiatives across AppCyclers’ programs and operations

·       Assist in organizing workshops, events, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building activities

·       Represent AppCyclers during meetings, conferences, workshops, and project-related engagements

·       Support the development of systems and processes that improve operational efficiency and project delivery

Requirements

Applicants must:

·       Be between 20 and 35 years old

·       Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in any field

·       Possess strong communication, organizational, coordination, and interpersonal skills

·       Be proactive, innovative, and solution-oriented

·       Have the ability to work independently and within a team environment

·       Be willing to work full-time and physically based in Tamale

·       Possess a valid passport and be willing to travel outside Ghana for work-related assignments

·       Have good reporting, documentation, and problem-solving skills

·       Be passionate about sustainability, innovation, and impact-driven work

Added Advantage

The following qualifications and experiences will be considered an advantage:

·       Experience in project coordination, operations, sustainability, circular economy, waste management, or community engagement

·       Experience working with startups, NGOs, social enterprises, or innovation-driven organizations

·       Knowledge of digital tools, data management, and reporting systems

·       Proposal writing, stakeholder management, or partnership engagement experience

·       Experience supporting donor-funded or impact-driven projects
