On behalf of our client, we now invite applications from experienced professionals for the position of Legal and Compliance Officer. The successful candidate will assist with the provision of legal advice in relation to various areas of law such as corporate law, commercial law, property law, data protection, employment law, intellectual property law, and litigation. The following are the responsibilities and qualifications for the position;

Role summary

Reporting to the Senior Legal Officer, the Legal and Compliance Officer would be responsible for providing assistance and advice on legal, contract, legislative, and compliance issues regarding the establishment and operations of the organisation.

Job responsibilities

       i.          Prioritised responsibilities of the Legal and Compliance Officer include the following:

     ii.          Assist with the provision of legal advice about various areas of law, such as corporate law, commercial law, property law, data protection, employment law, intellectual property law, and litigation.

    iii.          Assist with drafting and/or negotiating a wide range of legal agreements and documents, including contracts for services, third-party supplier contracts, service agreements, and memorandum of understandings.

   iv.          Assist with legal due diligence audits.

     v.          Conduct legal research and identify potential risks to the organisation.

   vi.          Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the organisation.

Education, Professional Qualifications, and Experience Required

       i.          Minimum of three (3) years working experience.

     ii.          Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognised university.

    iii.          Must be a lawyer and a member of the Ghana Bar Association

   iv.          Experience in corporate or investment-related legal practice, preferably in the public or financial sector.
