Petrosol is seeking the services of qualified, hardworking and experienced individuals for the position of an Audit Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance processes within the company.  The role involve conducting risk assessments, internal controls, compliance reviews and ensuring that policies, procedures and operations align with regulatory standards and company strategic objectives. The following are the responsibilities and qualification for the position;

     v.          Operational Efficiency (10%)

   vi.          Leadership & Competence (5%)

Job Specifications

LEADERSHIP:

Shall lead by modelling the company’s values of Service, Empathy, Leadership, Professionalism, Integrity and Sustainability and acting as an exemplary brand ambassador so as to inspire others and to live the values and hold them accountable if they are not.

RISK MANAGEMENT:

Shall identify, assess, and monitor key risks (financial, operational, regulatory, reputational, and strategic) facing the company.

Shall develop and maintain a risk register, ensuring timely updates and action tracking.

Shall support management in implementing risk mitigation strategies and business continuity planning.

Shall provide advice on emerging risks, including those related to oil marketing and HSE compliance.

INTERNAL AUDIT:

Shall plan, execute, and report on internal audits across all departments

Shall evaluate the adequacy, efficiency, and effectiveness of internal controls, business processes, and compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Shall review and assess the effectiveness of financial controls over procurements, sales, distribution, and depot operations.

Shall recommend practical solutions to control weaknesses and monitor implementation of corrective actions.

Shall conduct special investigations into suspected fraud, irregularities and operational lapses.

COMPLIANCE AND GOVERNANCE:

Shall ensure compliance with industry regulations (NPA, EPA, tax, HSE, etc) and internal company policies.

Shall monitor adherence to HSE standards in line with the oil and gas industry.

Shall support management in strengthening corporate governance practices and ethical standards.

REPORTING:

Shall prepare and present audit findings, risk assessments and recommendations to management and the Audit Committee.

Shall track the implementation of corrective actions and follow up on outstanding audit issues.

Shall provide periodic risk and audit reports to Senior Management for decision making.

Qualification and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Auditing or a related field

A minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, internal audit or compliance, preferably in the oil and gas or related field

Professional certification (CIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CISA or CFE) is an added advantage.

Key Competencies

KNOWLEDGE:

Strong knowledge of internal audit standards, risk frameworks (COSO, ISO 31,000).

Familiarity with oil marketing industry, regulations and HSE standards is desirable

SKILLS:

Computer literacy skills (ERP, Data Analysis, Audit Software, MS Office 365 Suite)

Strong attention to details

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

An ability to adapt quickly to changes and to deliver value in a fast-paced business environment.

Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills

Excellent report writing and communication skills

Excellent audit skills

Working Conditions

The role may require working irregular hours, including weekends and

holidays

The role involves or may require frequent movement, long hours of
