About Us
FG Gold Limited has been awarded the Baomahun Gold concession project located in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District, and is currently in the development phase. To support this project development, FG Gold Limited is seeking a qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Accounting Analyst.
Responsibilities
Role Purpose: The Accounting Analyst plays a key role in supporting FG Gold’s financial governance, reporting integrity, and regulatory compliance. The position is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting in line with internal standards, lender requirements, and statutory obligations, with a strong emphasis on CTA and covenant reporting.
This role supports the preparation, coordination, and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including audited financial statements and supporting management commentaries. The Accounting Analyst also ensures full compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, liaising with relevant authorities such as the NMA, Local Content Secretariat, NRA, SLEITI, and other applicable regulators.
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with IFRS and company policies.
- Maintain supporting schedules for lender and audit requirements.
- Assist in CTA and Lender reporting packs.
- Responsible for the preparation of regulatory and stakeholder reports within agreed timelines.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory and lender reporting requirements.
- Support month end and year end closing process.
- Responsible for the analysis of the statement of the financial position.
- Coordinate external and internal audit processes and respond to audit queries.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and compliance.
- Responsible for implementing internal controls and support remediation of audit findings.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Finance Manager and the Head of Management Accounting.
Other Responsibilities:
- Active involvement and leadership required to deliver activities.
- Support all operational readiness planning and preparation projects.
- Develop, submit and be accountable for all Mining Project (Complete, Additional and Simplified) documentation required to comply with all statutory requirements.
- Performance of other tasks within the scope of his professional qualification by order of the General Director and the Technical Director.
Qualification, Skills & Experience
Educational Background:
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a recognised and reputable institution, with professional accreditation as a Chartered Accountant and/or a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in surface mining, preferably within gold operations, including exposure to capital projects.
- Proven expertise in mine design and strategic mine planning for gold open-pit operations.
- Strong production engineering experience, including responsibility for production reporting, drill and blast activities, and long-term mine planning.
- Demonstrated communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and external consultancies.
- Strong understanding of project management, project development, and engineering work methodologies.
- Excellent written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
- Demonstrated commercial insight, strategic thinking, and sound business acumen.
- Proven ability to effectively present and communicate key technical, financial, safety, environmental, and social matters to the Board and other senior stakeholders.
- Proven experience in the development and management of mine operations.
- Demonstrated track record of establishing and maintaining safe work environments and fostering a strong safety culture.
- Sound knowledge and experience in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including management of associated permits.
Technical Skills:
- Must be strong in Deswik (CAD, IS, SCHED, Go, Blend & LHS) and Whittle. Surpac and Mine Sched would be an added advantage
- Strong working knowledge and familiarity with Dips, Slides2&3, Leapfrog and OrePro3D
Languages:
Fluency in English.
