Job Summary
This position will support operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing all manufacturing equipment and facilities in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the Maintenance Manager. This position creates value for the facility/Mills by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability (reduce downtimes), thus helping the Mills to meet their production and quality goals.
Job Description/Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Identify, troubleshoot and repair all electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and simple electrical problems on plant facilities and production equipment (Flour and Feed Milling equipment)
• Performs preventative maintenance per defined interval/schedule in a timely manner and document maintenance concerns/resolutions; providing action plans and status reports as needed
• Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to Maintenance Manager
• Supervises all electrical activities by leading the electrical team. Must have an in-depth manufacturing industrial electrical experience.
• Perform periodic calibration of weighing equipment. Eg scales.
• Troubleshooting electrical, electronic, instrumentation and pneumatic problems in production equipment using schematic diagrams.
• Ensure electrical safety operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality
• Must ensure very good lighting system in the mills and all offices.
• Must be responsible for the maintenance of all electrical equipment in the mills and the facility.
• Responsible for the daily reading and recordings of energy consumptions and other utilities in the mills and the facilities.
• Train and develop electrical staff to standard
• Ensure reliability of production equipment for consistent productivity
• Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and aprons.
• Good knowledge of Air-conditioning system
• Any other duties as assigned by the Operations manager, Maintenance manager, etc.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Must be able to satisfactorily demonstrate proficiency in industrial Machine troubleshooting and Repairs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both written and verbal; includes building relationships with team lead and department Manager.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem solving skills with focus on attention to detail
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, job related internet research and ability to learn new maintenance software for daily usage
• Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as: confined spaces, working at heights, dusty/dirty and around chemicals.
• Understand, practice and enforce safe work practices related to the following: respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, control of hazardous energy (Lockout/Tagout procedure), fire protection systems, electrical safety, forklift/hoist operation, welding, cutting, brazing, confined space entry, PPE and employee Right to Know.
• Must be familiar with conveyor and elevator systems
• Must be able to install and program AC drives, work efficiently on PLCs and HMI
• Must be able to build new circuits and wire new panels.
• Must have strong Electrical repair/troubleshooting working skills.
Qualification:
• Must be a holder of BSc Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing sector Or HND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in manufacturing sector.
