Senior IT Engineer at Axis Human Capital

Our client, an IT solutions provider, is seeking an experienced IT engineer to lead the design, deployment, and support of infrastructure and data center solutions.

PURPOSE

1. To build, maintain, and support IT infrastructure and Data Centre solutions.
2. To provide overall design of Data Centre solutions and mapping of business needs in line with customers' systems/technical solutions.

DUTIES

1. Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, and software applications.
2. Oversees systems development and enhancement, and the integration of new systems with existing systems.
3. Develops expertise to meet the changing needs of users, groups, and offices; new projects and technologies.
4. Develops standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to end-users.
5. Ensures the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
6. Provides pre-sales technical advice
7. Produces a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements
8. Provides Technical documentation of solutions offered to customers
9. Provides current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives
10. Interfaces and coordinates with third-party vendors
11. Participates in training design, documentation, and delivery efforts
12. Participates and leads, when needed, the meetings with the customer
13. Conducts research into new technologies that apply in the areas of business of the company
14. Leads a team of project/support engineers that offer second and third line support to customers

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

       i.          Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited tertiary institution

     ii.          Minimum 5 years of work experience in IT design, support, and pre-sales

    iii.          IT certifications are a plus:

a.    VCP-DCV

b.    Microsoft Technologies Associate Certifications

c.     RHCSA/RHCE, Linux +

d.    OCP, Oracle Solaris 11 System Administrator
